Above and Below

In the Spring term, our whole school topic will be Above and Below.

Enterprising, Creative Contributors –

At the start of the term, the pupils will discuss and plan what they would like to learn about as part of this topic.

Ambitious, Capable learners –

All pupils in Year 1 / 2 take part in Read Write Inc. In these sessions, pupils learn their letter sounds and apply them when reading a variety of story books. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCBzNnSSxds

We also encourage pupils to develop their spelling ability.

Mathletics is a great way to develop mathematical skills and certificates are awarded. Who will achieve a gold certificate this term? https://login.mathletics.com/

Your child will read to the class teacher each week. Please ensure you read with your child at least three times a week and comment in their reading record. Who will achieve  10 reading rewards? Your child needs to bring their book on their reading day.

We like to encourage Healthy and confident individuals –

Each week all pupils take part in the daily mile and tooth brushing. P.E sessions are held on a Thursday. Please ensure your child has a P.E. kit in school.

Ethical, Informed citizens – 

We celebrate a variety of festivals from Wales and around the world.

We encourage pupils to take learn about and show their commitment in the sustainability of the planet. We have representatives on Pupil Voice.
